Privacy policy
The short version: this site has no accounts, no database and no forms, and it collects no personal information about anyone who visits it. What the planner is told stays in the browser and is never transmitted.
Effective August 15, 2026 · Last reviewed August 15, 2026
Information collected
Information provided directly: none. There is nothing to sign up for and no contact form. The county, district code, acreage and priorities entered into the planner are held in the page while it is open, used by a calculation that runs entirely in the browser, and discarded when the tab closes. They are never sent to a server, because the site has no server to send them to — it is a set of static files.
Information collected automatically: the site is served from Cloudflare’s network, and like any web host Cloudflare processes the technical details of each request — IP address, browser user agent, the URL requested, and a coarse country derived from the IP — to deliver the page and to protect the service from abuse. Cloudflare acts as a service provider under California law and is not permitted to use that data for its own purposes. Those logs are not read, exported or joined to anything, and are retained for Cloudflare’s standard operational period.
Information stored on the device: two small values in the browser’s local storage, both of them settings that were explicitly chosen. They are listed in full below.
Cookies and similar technologies
No cookies are set. The two values below are local storage entries, which — unlike cookies — are never transmitted with a request. Nothing here tracks anyone across sites, and no third-party script runs on any page.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| theme | Local storage · strictly necessary | Remembers a light or dark theme that was explicitly chosen, so the choice survives a reload. | Until cleared |
| consent | Local storage · strictly necessary | Records the privacy choices made below, so they are honoured on later visits and the notice is not shown again. | Until cleared |
| No analytics, advertising, tag manager or social widget is present. Any addition to that list appears in this table before it ships, and behind the controls below. | |||
Requests to other services
The district lookup on the planner is optional and runs only when you enter something and press Check. When you do, two requests leave your browser:
| Service | What is sent | Why |
|---|---|---|
| geocode.arcgis.com | The address or coordinates you entered, and nothing else. Sent with the no-storage flag set. If you pasted a listing link, the address is read out of the link here in your browser and only that address is sent — never the link, and nothing is requested from the listing site | To turn an address into a map point |
| services8.arcgis.com | Only the map point — never the address | To ask Oregon’s statewide zoning layer which district covers that point |
| Neither request is made unless you start a lookup. Nothing you enter is stored by this site, kept in your browser, or associated with you, and no owner or property record is retrieved. Those services will have their own logs, governed by their own policies. If you would rather not use them, type the county and district in directly — the planner works exactly the same way. | ||
Your privacy choices
Nothing optional is switched on in this build — no analytics and no advertising — so there is nothing to opt out of, and no control is shown. When an optional category is added, the controls appear here and a “Your privacy choices” link appears in the footer of every page.
Global Privacy Control
Browsers and extensions that send a Global Privacy Control signal are honoured automatically as an opt-out of any sale or sharing of personal information. When the signal is present, every optional category stays off and the privacy notice is not shown at all.
Sale and sharing
Personal information is not sold, and it is not shared for cross-context behavioural advertising. No personal information has been sold or shared in the preceding twelve months, and none is disclosed for any business purpose beyond the hosting provider described above.
If personalised advertising is introduced, it will be off by default, it will appear in the table above and in the controls, and this section will be updated to say so before it goes live rather than after.
Categories of personal information (CCPA/CPRA)
The schedule California law asks for, stated against what actually happens here.
| Statutory category | Collected | Source & purpose | Disclosed | Sold or shared |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Identifiers (IP address, device/browser identifiers) | Yes — automatically, by the hosting provider | Generated by the request itself; used to deliver pages and to protect the service from abuse | To Cloudflare as a service provider only | No |
| Internet or other network activity (pages requested) | Yes — automatically, by the hosting provider | Same as above; operational logs only | To Cloudflare as a service provider only | No |
| Geolocation data (coarse country, derived from IP) | Yes — automatically, by the hosting provider | Routing and abuse prevention; never precise location | To Cloudflare as a service provider only | No |
| Name, contact details, account credentials, commercial, financial, biometric, employment, education, audio or visual information | No | Not collected — there is nothing that would collect it | No | No |
| Sensitive personal information | No | None is collected, so no “Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information” link is required | No | No |
| Inferences drawn to create a profile | No | The planner’s calculation runs in the browser and produces nothing that leaves it | No | No |
Retention: nothing is retained by this site, because nothing is stored by it. The hosting provider’s operational logs are retained for its standard period and are not accessed for any purpose other than security and delivery.
California privacy rights
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, used, disclosed, sold or shared and to receive a copy of it; to have it deleted; to correct inaccurate information; to opt out of its sale or sharing; to limit the use of sensitive personal information; and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. No different price, level of service or quality of content is offered to anyone on the basis of a privacy choice, and there is no financial incentive programme.
A practical note: because no personal information is collected or retained here, there is nothing a request to know, delete or correct could return, remove or change.
Making a request
No request channel is operated while the site collects nothing, because there is nothing a request could return, delete or correct. When the site begins to collect personal information — an account, a form, an analytics or advertising category — this section will name the channel, the verification applied, the authorised-agent route, and the timeline: 45 days, extendable once by a further 45 days with notice.
Other states
Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and other states grant comparable rights of access, correction, deletion, portability and opt-out. Rather than keeping a matrix of them, the same treatment is extended to everyone who asks, wherever they live.
Children
This site is not directed at children and knowingly collects nothing from anyone under 13. Personal information of anyone under 16 is not sold or shared, and would not be without an affirmative opt-in as California law requires.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS with a strict content security policy, and it has no database, no accounts and no server-side code. The strongest security property it has is that there is no store of personal information to breach — which is a deliberate design choice, not an accident of scale, and it is preserved for as long as the product allows.
Changes to this policy
This policy is reviewed at least every twelve months and updated whenever what the site does changes. The effective and last-reviewed dates at the top of the page always reflect the current version. Material changes will be announced on the site.
